Adult Mental Health Working Group

The members of the Adult Mental Health project group have a wealth of experience and knowledge and work closely with partner organisations such as MIND, Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Norfolk County Council and NORCAS.

The group have focused on two main areas of work; the provision of mental health services in prisons in the Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health trust and access to psychological services in Norfolk specifically the ‘Improvement to Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT).

We are currently compiling data from our engagement activities with service users in Norfolk's prisons and will be producing a report of our findings and making recommendations where required to commissioners and providers of services.  This report will be available on this site, in the downloads section, later in the summer.

The group are also involved in engaging with service users through networking meetings and events to ensure that their views and needs are recognised through LINk partnership meetings with Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Trust.  The group also participate in inspections in Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Trust locations looking at the environment and infection control.

The group is involved with Improving Access to Psychological Therapies and its transformation into the Wellbeing Service. The group is planning to carry out focus groups within each of the localities in Norfolk to engage with service users so that their voice can be heard in the development of Wellbeing Services.
